FIVE PHRASES: TIPS FOR NEGOCIATING

It's always slightly uncomfortable for a writer to ask for more than an editor wishes to spend.
But, with a few key phrases under you belt, you, too, can significantly increase your income.
1. "That sounds a little low."
2. "To make it worth my time, I would need..."
3. "Considering the amount of research required, Can we agree to..."
4. "I am expecting more for this piece."
5. "Can we work on that?"
Keep in mind that your tone and professionalism will matter.
